Pop-Up Exhibit at Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel

On Thursday, May 2, from 7-9 p.m., 20 North Gallery presented 12 new & recent artworks by Philip Hazard at Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel. 20 North Gallery, Renaissance hospitality and the artist welcomed visitors and hotel guests for fine art & conversation at this one-night-only exhibit, which was hosted in the sophisticated main lobby lounge. The event brought out new and longtime admirers of Hazard’s work on this spring evening.
The pop-up exhibit partnership between 20 North Gallery and the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel brings fine artwork to the hotel’s venue spaces once a month. Featured in May was Philip Hazard, a museum-collected and internationally-exhibited Toledo artist. Hazard’s breadth of arts experience – including a B.A. in Film and Design as well as a long career in the neon sign industry – informs his lively series of works that explore the larger context of the relationship between disparate images and their dialogue.
Selected for display were 10 of his works on canvas complemented by 2 recent examples of his signature neon artworks. Viewers delighted in these colorful and expressive mixed media artworks that utilize elements of collage, printmaking and painting. All artworks on view were for sale at this open-to-the-public and free-to-attend event.
