20 North Gallery Celebrates a Local Legend this Holiday Season
As the estate representatives for the late Adam Grant, 20 North Gallery is proud to offer for this season 2 sets of specially-commissioned Adam Grant artwork Christmas cards!
Angels and Madonnas – Every year during his life in the U.S., Adam Grant would create a family Christmas card design, using pen-and-ink, intaglio printing, watercolors or pastels. Prompted by a December 2018 wish of his widow, we are delighted to present a set of 12 of these beautiful designs, in a new, locally-sourced edition, expertly reproduced by our friends at PrintinGraphics.

The Polish Madonna – In 1947, 23-year-old Polish artist, Adam (Grochowski) Grant, had survived the notorious Auschwitz and Mauthausen Nazi death camps and was living in a displaced persons camp as an officially stateless individual. That year, he commemorated Christmas with a poignant depiction of the Madonna and Child as homeless refugees, fleeing persecution on the Flight into Egypt.
6 decades later, his widow and artistic executrix, Peggy Grant, printed this design as a Christmas card, in memory of Adam and his devout faith.
A small quantity of these cards remain, now available for sale at 20 North Gallery.

All cards will be available for purchase from Thursday, November 21, through the holidays.
