Aaron S. Bivins’ solo exhibit of abstract paintings on view through September 12
Due to scheduling changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, 20 North Gallery’s current exhibit Around the Corner: Aaron Bivins Abstract will be extended through September 12.
Well-known for his lush, impressionistic landscape paintings and jazz-themed watercolor portraits, Bivins debuted in April a bold new series of work—18 canvases of audacious and emotive abstraction. The exhibition was originally planned to conclude in late June but, now that shut-down restrictions on galleries are easing, this extension into September makes it possible for a larger audience to view the work, in-person.
An acrylic painting demonstration by Bivins, working in his abstract style, will take place in the exhibit toward the end of the summer.

Additional Bivins Paintings Available
On June 17, Bivins, a noted art educator and past-president of the Northwestern Ohio Watercolor Society, presented a watercolor demonstration and artist talk in complement to his ongoing exhibit.

During the demonstration, Bivins worked simultaneously on two separate floral still life paintings and spoke about his motivations for the various series of paintings—in watercolor, oil and acrylic—he has created throughout his artistic career. These demonstration paintings, Elegance and You Are Mine are available for sale at the gallery, as well as two sample paintings shown that night: the 2018 watercolor Ms. Naomi’s Hair Shop and the 2018 impressionistic landscape in acrylic Along the Fall Tracks.

20 North Gallery is currently open by “call-ahead” appointment, Wednesday – Saturday, noon – 4 p.m. Or the public may view the artwork remotely through the online video of the exhibit installation or viewing the 20 North Gallery Around the Corner online catalogue & price list. Visitors may also set a private appointment to tour the exhibition via Facetime or Zoom.
