The artists of the Falling Into Place exhibit will offer insight into their processes, inspirations and the symbolism used within their artworks currently on display at 20 North Gallery. Michelle Carlson, whose Boy and Blanket series employs a mixed media approach to colored pencil, screen printing and imitation gold leaf techniques, will share reflections on the iconography and color symbolism in her work while leading an interactive screen printing demonstration. Guests are invited to pull their own screen printed proof using imagery from Carlson’s Boy and Blanket Series. Bill Horvath, whose “gravity-abstract” ink drawings are composed and displayed so they may be rotated and viewed from any angle, will provide engaging commentary on his reactive creation process and his own handling of symbolism in a composition that mixes abstraction with reality.
