Artists Talk and Demo with Exhibiting Artists
Thursday, August 18, 6 – 9 p.m.
Join us Thursday, August 18, from 6 – 9 p.m. for an interactive Artists Talks and Demo. The free and open-to-the-public event will feature a “behind-the-scenes” look into the artistic processes of Paul Brand and Anastasia Wagner, the exhibiting artists of our current exhibit, Chalk, Paper, Scissors.
The plein air charcoal landscapes of Paul Brand are rich in contrast and visual texture. Often taking an abstract approach to his drawing and painting, Brand shows a compelling use of form and negative space. The mixed media collages of Anastasia Wagner combine an interest in portraiture and gardening. Through the layering of imagery and use of various acrylic mediums, Wagner creates renderings that focus on color, texture and line.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour, during which guests are welcome to converse one-on-one with the artists. The artist presentations will begin with Paul Brand at 7 p.m., followed by Anastasia Wagner.
A Q&A will follow each artist’s presentation. Visitors are welcome to both attend the social hour and the artist presentations if they so choose! The event includes a free, light tapas buffet and cash bar by Venue.
Due to limited seating, reservations are not required but are encouraged.
